Young Puffballs and Amethyst Deceivers…with names like these it’s no surprise that many of us are put off eating these alternative fruits of the forest but I can vouch that these were safe and tasty!
Sadly, these were last year’s treasures. This weekend’s forage was less bountiful…we saw lots of mushrooms and toadstools but none we could absolutely positively identify as edible so we left them alone and just enjoyed being amongst the crunchy leaves and cooking hot dogs on a camping stove.
